Formed in 1997 the company was recently listed as the UK’s 14th largest film distributor and Home Entertainment publisher.

In 2008 we were the first ever distributor to release a live action digital 3D movie with U2 3D. Tailing the year we collapsed all windows and simultaneously released Mum & Dad, a British horror movie, across every platform currently available.

Revolver Entertainment was chosen by Turner Broadcasting Systems as the exclusive UK partner for all home entertainment product from [adult swim], one of the most successful brands in US entertainment. We launched the comedy and animation franchise with the the smash-hit title Robot Chicken: Star Wars that starred George Lucas himself, and will be rolling out a slate of over 100 titles in the coming years including Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II which is set to take the [adult swim] franchise intergalactic this Summer.

Revolver is also one of the leading UK film businesses selected by the UK Film Council and government body NESTA to take part in the Take 12 Programme, which aims to develop new and exciting strategies for independent film distribution in the digital age. Revolver is also working closely with media strategy consultant HUGE Entertainment, one of the key players behind the BBC iPlayer, to keep Revolver right at the cutting edge of new digital developments in the film business.

Just as Revolver began in the UK in 1997, our Los Angeles based North American arm has also started life as a distributor of Home Entertainment titles. A truly digital distributor, Revolver’s releases are available through a multitude of platforms and the company has deals in place with Apple’s itunes, X-Box, Netflix and Amazon to name but a few. Revolver USA also has a book publishing arm and published its first book title last year – The Wackness – to tie in to Sony’s US theatrical release.

With a great start to 2009, a catalogue of over 250 titles, and one of the best slates to date for the rest of the year there can be little doubt that Revolver Entertainment look set to continue in this trend for some time to come.
